With 16 years of teaching experience in primary education, I specialise in helping children aged 7-11 build confidence and skills in English and Maths. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students, adapting my teaching to meet a wide variety of individual needs.
My expertise includes preparing students for significant milestones such as the Year 6 SATs and the 11+ exams, as well as supporting their development across all primary year groups. As a former Year Group Leader, Phase Leader, and Head of Curriculum, I have a deep and comprehensive understanding of the core subjects and how they develop throughout a child's primary school journey.
I believe that learning is a creative and joyful process. My teaching style is dynamic and engaging, and I enjoy incorporating my passions for Art and History to make lessons more inspiring and memorable. I hold a degree and a PGCE in Primary Education, and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Creative Teaching and Learning Design.
My philosophy is simple: learning is the window to becoming the person you want to be. I am dedicated to unlocking each child's potential by fostering a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.
I hold a current and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and am registered on the DBS Update Service. This ensures that my safeguarding status is always current and verifiable.
Safeguarding is my highest priority. I pride myself on maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the latest best practices and guidelines. I regularly engage in professional development, including staying current with updates and training from reputable sources like TES, to ensure I provide a safe and secure learning environment for every child.
The Cosy Cabin
Step inside the cosy tutoring cabin, a warm and inviting space where learning feels like a journey, not a chore. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, designed to help children focus and feel at ease.
We have created an environment that caters to different learning styles. For group collaboration, we have a dedicated space filled with a wealth of hands-on resources, including Dienes blocks and place value counters.
To spark a lifelong love of reading, a dedicated library is stocked with a diverse collection of books to inspire every future reader. The space also features a tranquil area for quiet reflection or creative expression, complete with colouring materials and fake grass that brings a touch of the outdoors inside.
Our cabin is also equipped with modern technology to enhance learning. A projector helps to bring lessons to life, while tablets are used to provide targeted assessment and support, ensuring every student's progress is carefully tracked.
