How long have you been teaching?
Having been a primary school teacher for the past 16 years, I have extensive experience teaching children in Key Stage 2. Throughout this time, I have held various positions of responsibility, including Phase Leader, Foundation Curriculum Leader, and Mentor for Early Career Teachers.
Before this, I began my career as a Teaching Assistant, where I focused on providing one-to-one and small group support for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). During my PGCE training, I completed placements in a range of schools, working with students in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
My teaching experience has primarily been with Years 4-6. This has given me the opportunity to support countless parents with their secondary school applications, offer advice for grammar school entrance tests, and help with Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications. My approach has always been to plan challenging and engaging lessons that are tailored to meet every child's individual needs, ensuring not only that they make steady progress but also thrive in their learning and and building towards future aspirations.

What is your policy for holidays?
Regular tutoring sessions will pause during school holidays unless specifically requested to continue, but there will be a selection of one-to-one and group workshops available to book separately. Sessions will continue for any bank holidays that fall during term time.
We understand that you may have prior commitments at times. Sessions can be moved if you provide at least 21 days' notice. Similarly, I will provide you with at least three weeks' notice if Topsie Tutoring will be closed for time with my own family. If your child is unwell, please try to give as much notice as you can and I will try to rearrange our session for a more suitable time.
